Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions aply to all wedding bookings at Morton Manor.

Booking Confirmation

Any booking is provisional until Morton manor receives a signed confirmation from the client, which is deemed as acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Provisional minimum numbers will be required at the time of booking and Morton manor’s minimum charge will be based on these numbers.

At least 14 days prior to arrival the Client will provide Morton manor with final guest numbers. The final charge to the Client will be calculated using this number or the actual number attending – whichever is the greater, provided the minimum charge is exceeded.

If any reduction is made by the Client to the final numbers less than 14 days prior to arrival, Morton Manor reserves the right to charge the Client 50% of the per head charge for each guest not attending. If the actual number attending is 90% or less than the final number booked, Morton Manor may charge the allocated function space.

Cancellation & Postponement

Cancellations or postponement of the event will result in the charges below becoming due. In each case, the percentage charge is based on the advance notice of cancellation given and applies to the estimated cost of the booking.

Weddings, Banquets and other functions:

From 26 weeks to 8 weeks    25%
From 8 weeks to 3 days          50%
Less than 3 days                     100%

Morton Manor will try to re-let the allocated space and a reduction of the cancellation charge may be made if Morton Manor is successful.

Deposits

For weddings, Banquets and social functions, deposits are payable as follows:

On booking- 10% or £200 (whichever is applicable) 14 days prior to the event – Total Balance due.

For deposits not received within seven days of the due date, Morton manor may regard the bookings as cancelled. In the event of cancellation by the Client any deposit will be set against the cancellation charges.

Prices & Payment

Prices are subject to variation up to 12 weeks prior to arrival, after which, except for variations due to client requirements, they may only vary due to changes in value Added tax or other reasons outside Morton manor’s control in which case they will immediately by notified to the Client. In such latter event, the Client will have the right to cancel the booking without cost.

Payment is by cash, cheque, banker’s draft or such credit cards as are recognised by Morton manor and is required upon presentation of the invoice. In the event of any query relating to the invoice the Client must notify Morton manor within 14 days of the invoice date and the Client’s obligation to pay all outstanding balances will not be affected.

Etiquette & Controls

Morton manor reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of the Client and their guests, and the Client must take all steps necessary for corrective action. In the event of failure to comply with the management’s requests, Morton manor reserves the right to terminate the booking or stop any event without being liable for refund or compensation.

It is Morton Manors policy not to discriminate on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, creed, sex, marital status, ethnic origin or disability. The Client and its guests are expected to adhere to this policy and Morton Manor reserves the right, without incurring any liability to the client, to remove from Morton manor any person or persons offending against this policy.

Morton Manor and the events it hosts are subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, licensing and entertainment, and must be strictly observed by clients and their guests.

Outside Services

Prior consent of Morton Manor must be received for any entertainment or services contracted by the Client. The Client will ensure that any outside contractor reports to the duty Manager and signs a contractor’s indemnity form. Morton Manor in its absolute discretion refuses access to any contractor.

Liabilities

Other than for death or expense to any person or thing however caused. Unless Morton Manor is liable under negligence, the Client will indemnify Morton Manor from and against any and all liability and any claims, costs, demands, proceedings and damages resulting or arising from the booked event or function, the client, it’s guests and any outside contractor.

The Client is responsible for any damage caused to the allocated rooms, furnishings, utensils and equipment in them by act, default or neglect of the Client, it’s guests or sub-contractors and shall pay Morton Manor and demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage.

In these terms and conditions (‘Terms’) which apply to all bookings, the expression ‘the Client’ means the person booking Morton Manor.
